A rich history, an exciting future and around 14,000 people located around the world. At the heart of our continued success are talented employees with a real passion for our business. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today and we wouldn’t be experiencing such worldwide growth. As we take greater steps on our global journey, we’re working hard to attract, grow and support the right talent to ensure we have the best team driving us forward. By enhancing how we manage and develop performance, the business is well-equipped to achieve its goals whilst creating new and exciting opportunities for our people.

The Talent Team sits within Group HR and we support the growth and success of Clarks by supporting and developing the people that work here. HR is a business-critical function and the scope of our work is extremely varied. In Talent, we look after everything from sourcing external talent and developing internal colleagues, to managing performance and promoting shared values and behaviours. We’re passionate about making sure that everyone has the right tools to thrive and be the best they can be. At the moment, we’re busy optimising how we deliver and assess performance management at Clarks. We do this to ensure we grow successfully and sustainably; focusing less on complicated processes and more on regular, open conversations. We want to empower and support managers and individuals to take ownership of their performance and development within the organisation.

Everything we do, every new approach or programme we put in place, has a global impact on the business. From Somerset to Massachusetts, all of our solutions need to be consistent and comprehensive in every region we operate in - this adds an extra layer of complexity as we have to be aware of different cultures, trends and tones. As a team, we have regular communication with other international offices and also provide workshops, global webinars and much more. It’s so refreshing to see people taking on board new ways of working and seeing the benefits. Right now, we’re focused on encouraging colleagues to think about the way they do things. It’s about making change happen, enhancing our capabilities for the future and helping people to make the most of the opportunities that are ahead of us.
