If I can make one person smile a day I feel I am doing some good!

The purpose of my role is to lead the team to make great commercial decisions and cascade training to support the team leaders and the sales team. I also support my manager on and off the sales floor, which ensures that we deliver a great shopping experience for all our consumers. I focus on providing training and making sure that the store is set up for success: with clear goals at the start of the shift and feedback given to all staff throughout their shift, focusing on positive behaviours but also providing challenges for them ready for their next shift.
I really enjoy speaking to new people every day. I'm a people person so I like to spend as much time on the sales floor as possible. Helping someone purchase a great pair of shoes makes me happy and if I can make one person smile a day I feel I am doing some good! The biggest challenge is the constant change in shopping patterns. These can be weather related or depending on how near or far from pay day it is. It’s important to react quickly to any change in circumstances. You always have to be one step ahead of what the customers want or need.

Clarks is a huge company with a great reputation. I started as a Back To School temp and I was really cared for a provided with some great tools to help me do a brilliant job. Knowing that I can now help people using those tools is great.  Clarks care - they look after their team. They spend time, money and resources making sure the team enjoy coming to work and it reflects in what you see on the sales floor!
