The role is like a blank sheet of paper…

The position of HR Business Partner excited me because it was a completely new role and it played an integral part in expanding the business in Asia. Having been born in Hong Kong, attended school in Indonesia and worked in Singapore, I’ve always had an affinity with the Asia Pacific region. I also grew up with Clarks and I’ve always admired the quality and heritage of the brand, so when this role opportunity came up, I couldn’t believe my luck.

Having such a large and growing region to work with is like being given a blank sheet of paper – lots of responsibility and plenty of scope for ideas. It’s exciting to think I play a part in bringing our ‘Effortless British Style’ to a region that’s home to more people than the rest of the world put together – talk about potential!

I’m hoping to have a long and successful career at Clarks. It’s really encouraging to see people who’ve been here over twenty years and moved around in the business as it keeps you engaged and motivated. My family is not from the South West, but my parents recently retired to Weston-Super-Mare so Lily (my six year old daughter) has been able to spend a lot more time with her grandparents. Working in such a family-friendly environment is great when you’ve young children.

Right now, every day in the office is proving very exciting as we grow from being a UK company to ‘The Leading Every Day Global Footwear Brand’.
