Leather or canvas? Lace-up or slip-on? When it comes to developing product ranges for Clarks, the questions are endless. Will it appeal to our customers in Singapore as much as our customers in Southampton? Is the margin too high? All of these things, and many more, have to be considered and decided seasons ahead of designs hitting the store.

When you pick up a shoe in store, you probably don’t think about the processes it went through to get there. Well if it was a Clarks’ shoe, it probably started its life as a concept over a year ago and went through a rigorous journey of briefs, design, development, merchandising and marketing before it reached you.

Months of thought, hard work and expertise goes into each and every one of our shoes and our Product team are at the heart of every step of the process. They bring products to life, overseeing their journey from concept to customer. From briefing designers to working with merchandisers to match shoes to stores, they shape and deliver key ranges, making vital decisions along the way to deliver stylish, sought-after products that get customers excited.

Clarks is an exciting place to work in Product as we’re all about robust designs and well-made products. Staying true to our heritage brand, we only use fine quality materials to develop our products. We’ve always stood out for being good at what we do, never compromising on high standards and refusing to blend in or make cheap imitations.

We pride ourselves on trusted traditions and contemporary creations. From developing macro trends unique to Clarks, to giving archived products a modern twist, our Product team ensure that our ranges meet customers’ needs and standing out from competitors. Going global has given our Product team a new layer of challenge. Now, our product ranges don’t just have to be loved in our UK stores but all over the world and of course, online.

We welcome Product/Range Managers at all levels. And from all backgrounds too: some of our Product team have come to us from retail store level. Your skills are more important than your background. So, if you know what customers want, you’re commercially aware, you thrive on a challenge and have a passion for great products then our Product team could be the perfect place for you. Both our CEO and Group Product Director started out as Junior Product/Range Managers so when we say it’s a great place to progress, we really mean it!
