Flying down to Street - and around the world!

I've been with Clarks for 25 years. I left University keen to work for a strong brand, and chose Clarks because of their great brand and training opportunities. I started as a graduate trainee in sales, working for K shoes. I've moved up in the company over the years, becoming Sales Manager, Sales Manager UK, Sales Manager UK ROI, Sales Director International and then International Sales Director. This means sitting on the Executive Board and reporting to the Chief Executive.

How have I been able to progress? If you're good at what you do, Clarks will give you the opportunities to get on, with all the support and personal development you need. Even though I've been at Clarks for some time now, I've never spent more than three years in one job. Clarks is always evolving, always looking to the future, and it invests in its people. My story isn't unique - there are lots of people who have been here for a long time and have worked their way up.

The company is all about building long-term relationships, between our people, customers and suppliers. My family is up in Hamilton in Scotland, and I fly down to Street, as well as travelling all over the world. I've always received great support from the company and they're flexible when it comes to my role and circumstances. They look after people and give them what they need to do a good job. Clarks is a great option when looking outside of London. It's in a great part of the country, it's a blue chip company and a headquarters of over 600 people and, of course, it's the biggest shoe brand in the world!
