The role

To support this journey, we’re looking for a passionate, dynamic and engaging Security Architect to help shape our security architecture practice and ensure a secure-by-design approach is taken across development, delivery and infrastructure teams. 

A key member of our wider architecture community, you’ll lead security engagement with new and existing projects, advising on solution designs and collaborating with colleagues and partners to ensure effective controls are in place to meet Clarks’ requirements. You’ll also oversee the development and adoption of appropriate architectural patterns, guardrails, standards and processes to reduce risk across our services.

This is an exciting opportunity to design and build security solutions for use across our global retail and digital estate and to challenge the status quo to drive security change for our technology strategy.

 

About you

You will have proven experience in the design and development of security solutions and services, likely gained through retail and/or of working on cloud adoption, digital transformation, web or micro services projects and engagements.

A global advocate for security, you’ll be familiar with common architectural and security frameworks with experience of creating and embedding appropriate patterns, guidelines, standards and other artefacts taking into account changing business needs.

Able to build strong relationships across the wider IT population and with key business and partner stakeholders, you’ll be an effective communicator with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working and to explore and present new ideas to push us out of our comfort zone.

Motivated and autonomous, you’ll feel comfortable both working within project lifecycle structures (waterfall and agile) while also engaging with wider audiences to affect security change and control improvements.

 

Required Technical Expertise

 

  • Experience in the practices and methods of security architecture, enterprise architecture and technology strategy development
  • Deep understanding of core security concepts and areas: network security, identity and access management, network security, cloud security, cryptography/PKI, data protection, secure code development, threat and vulnerability management etc
  • Good understanding of relevant privacy regulations (GDPR, DPA, PIPL etc) and of security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO27001, NIST, PCI DSS etc)
  • Knowledge and exposure to common architectural frameworks (TOGAF, SABSA, COBIT etc) and of the development of artefacts to support alignment
  • Likely to hold at least one common security certification (CEH, OSCP, CCSP, CISSP, CISA, CISM etc) alongside other relevant IT certifications (ITIL, AMP, Prince2 etc)
  • Experience of large, multinational retail organisation and of working with enterprise resource planning systems beneficial
