The Role

Here at Clarks, we’ve been making shoes for almost 200 years. We’re well known for innovative, inventive, and iconic footwear. Now, we’re looking at improving our approach to and our ways of working when it comes to IT. We want to ensure we’re at the cutting edge of the digital space with investments in new digital channels, data management and information systems.  We want to bring this capability in-house, driving change internally. And that’s where you’ll come in.

Working across all business domains, as IT Enterprise Architect, you will drive the strategic vision, setting the guiding principles for your team of Solutions Architects, delivering solution designs and options to meet our global business requirements. You will present business aligned roadmaps and standardised designs, considering business processes and technology concerns. You’ll develop a simplified architecture, through tools such as: SAP ERP, SAP Customer Experience, JDA and MuleESB. Collaboration is key: you’ll be working with the wider IT team, colleagues across the business and alongside third-party stakeholders. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your innovative thinking and thought leadership to drive positive change and improve our architectures and operational abilities.

As Enterprise Architect you will report to the IT Director of Technology.

A Bit About You

Open and objective, proactive and pragmatic, you’re a creative problem solver. A real team player, you’ve exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and understand exactly when to step up and lead a project. It’s important you have a proven track record in end-to-end project delivery, broad Enterprise Architecture experience and can show us where you’ve been involved in cloud adoption, web services and micro services and used SOA design principals, too. A retail background would be a bonus. Above all, we’d like you to champion the use of technology to solve problems and drive positive change across the business.

About Clarks

Clarks, based in Somerset, England, has been at the forefront of innovative shoemaking since its foundation in 1825, when brothers James and Cyrus Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that’s remained at the heart of what the brand does now.

In the Clarks archive of more than 22,000 pairs are shoes that have sparked revolutions and defined generations. From the original Clarks Desert Boot, first designed by Nathan Clark and launched in 1950 to the iconic Wallabee, each design has an instantly recognisable signature – a unique combination of craftsmanship and innovation that make it unmistakably Clarks.

Underpinned by a rich heritage and strong values, Clarks is a leading global footwear brand serving millions of consumers across the world, operating retail, wholesale, franchise and online channels in over 100 markets worldwide supported by nearly 6,000 employees across the world.

In February 2021, Clarks entered a new chapter in its history as it formed a partnership with LionRock Capital, positioning the iconic footwear brand for future success as it enters its third century.
