The role

A changing market means diversifying what we do so we can meet new challenges with innovative solutions. Clarks franchise businesses are an important part of that. The challenge as Franchise Operations Manager is making sure that Clarks franchise businesses have the systems and processes in place to deliver the brand effectively and profitably in their stores – with a customer experience as distinctive as our shoes.

As someone with a deep understanding of retail / franchise operations and systems, you’ll know that there’s a whole lot that goes into achieving that. It means quickly analysing and resolving data and operational issues and innovating to achieve positive outcomes. It means day-to-day reviewing and development of policies and processes. And it means using your head for figures and data analytics and your commercial instincts to make Clarks and our franchises as profitable as possible. By doing all this you’ll play a big part in making sure that, the franchise business within Clarks continues to grow and expand in a profitable way.

A bit about you

You’ve been around the block – so to speak. Maybe in a retail or franchise commercial environment o your commercial instincts and ability to process, interpret and manipulate data are keen and always switched on. You’ll also be proactively on the lookout, spotting areas for improvement and with your knowledge and confidence put an action plan together to make change a reality.

You’ll also understand that behind every system and process, no matter how efficient, is a person. Your people skills will make sure your innovations are taken onboard by the team carrying them out. That means being able to communicate at all levels of our organisation and with franchisees and being able to sell your ideas with your charm and credibility – with Clarks, there’s no limit to how far you could go.

About Clarks

Clarks, based in Somerset, England, has been at the forefront of innovative shoemaking since its foundation in 1825, when brothers James and Cyrus Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that’s remained at the heart of what the brand does now.

In the Clarks archive of more than 22,000 pairs are shoes that have sparked revolutions and defined generations. From the original Clarks Desert Boot, first designed by Nathan Clark and launched in 1950 to the iconic Wallabee, each design has an instantly recognisable signature – a unique combination of craftsmanship and innovation that make it unmistakably Clarks.

Underpinned by a rich heritage and strong values, Clarks is a leading global footwear brand serving millions of consumers across the world, operating retail, wholesale, franchise and online channels in over 100 markets worldwide supported by nearly 6,000 employees across the world.

In February 2021, Clarks entered a new chapter in its history as it formed a partnership with LionRock Capital, positioning the iconic footwear brand for future success as it enters its third century.
