Risk equals cost. That’s why your role, as much as it is legalistic, will be just as important to our commercial strategy. By ensuring that we always conduct business in line with national and international laws and regulations while also meeting Data Protection standards, you’ll help make us more profitable.
You’ll work with senior stakeholders to review and refine our compliance strategy in line with business objectives, spotting opportunities to improve compliance. Leading the Compliance Team, you’ll ensure the successful delivery of strategy across the whole organisation.
Keeping abreast of legal developments and in regular communication with outside legal partners, you’ll make us proactive in our response to changes in compliance legislation. A source of legal expertise and a point of contact for contact both internally and externally, you’ll drive a culture of better compliance at both local and global levels.
A bit about you
You’ll have significant experience as a senior compliance officer. During your time in compliance you’ll have gained in-depth knowledge of business regulations, the ability to assess the applicability of laws and fluency in communication with outside regulators. With an eye for detail as well as for spotting commercial opportunities, you’ll be able to conduct thorough investigations into safety failures and turn them into risk and cost-saving exercises.
Your innovative approach will make you a great fit for Clarks and a respected leader able to influence others and ensure their compliance initiatives are adopted right across our organisation. A great communicator and agile problem solver, you’ll be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment at an organisation undergoing a profitable transformation. Bring that transformation to Compliance and Data Protection and you’ll score some major achievements that will propel your career to new heights.
Clarks, based in Somerset, England, has been at the forefront of innovative shoemaking since its foundation in 1825, when brothers James and Cyrus Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that’s remained at the heart of what the brand does now.
In the Clarks archive of more than 22,000 pairs are shoes that have sparked revolutions and defined generations. From the original Clarks Desert Boot, first designed by Nathan Clark and launched in 1950 to the iconic Wallabee, each design has an instantly recognisable signature – a unique combination of craftsmanship and innovation that make it unmistakably Clarks.
Underpinned by a rich heritage and strong values, Clarks is a leading global footwear brand serving millions of consumers across the world, operating retail, wholesale, franchise and online channels in over 100 markets worldwide supported by nearly 6,000 employees across the world.
In February 2021, Clarks entered a new chapter in its history as it formed a partnership with LionRock Capital, positioning the iconic footwear brand for future success as it enters its third century.
