Clarks shoes have been defining high street fashion for almost 200 years. Just because our brand has an amazing history, though, that doesn’t mean we’re not looking to the future. In fact, we’re currently going through a digital transformation project that’s all about optimising our business for the online market of tomorrow. And that’s what we’re looking for a new Ecommerce visual Merchandiser – so that we can always provide the best online retail experience for our customers.
Alignment. Optimisation. As Ecommerce Visual Merchandiser, those will be your twin focal points as you create spectacular customer experiences that boost conversion rates and sale value while keeping returns to a minimum. You’ll work closely with global brand teams and digital merchandisers to make sure that when you deliver the UK and ROI trading plan, you’ll make sure that we’re always taking an aligned, consistent approach to branding on our Ecommerce sites.
You’ll apply that same eye for consistency to site performance, using data and insights into customer behaviour to shape a logical, smooth journey through our Ecommerce sites, ensuring that we never miss cross selling and MVT opportunities. You’ll apply a critical eye to everything you do and, if you see a better way of doing things – something that might improve our conversions or turnover – you’ll collaborate with front-end developers to get it planned and implemented.
Collaboration is key here – working closely with your team and the wider business to make us better at what we do. So, as much as our current transformation is digital, first and foremost, it’s about people and working together to make us a better business in the years ahead.
A bit about you
Your commercial focus is something truly special. In fact, you get a kick out seeing conversions and turnover moving in the right direction. That because you know you’ve got the ability to change customer behaviour with the improvements you make to our Ecommerce sites. You’ve done it before in other Visual Merchandising roles where you’ve used Web CMS and PIM tools and Ecommerce best practise to drive profitable growth. You’ve got tried and tested methods and you know they work.
When it comes to working within a team, things run a smoothly as the customer journeys you create. Your colleagues value your input – you communicate with confidence and your work is always accurate, even under pressure. And that - along with your drive and determination – is how you’ll contribute so much positivity and productivity to what we do here. It’s how you’ll help build an amazing future for Clarks - and for your career
Clarks, based in Somerset, England, has been at the forefront of innovative shoemaking since its foundation in 1825, when brothers James and Cyrus Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that’s remained at the heart of what the brand does now.
In the Clarks archive of more than 22,000 pairs are shoes that have sparked revolutions and defined generations. From the original Clarks Desert Boot, first designed by Nathan Clark and launched in 1950 to the iconic Wallabee, each design has an instantly recognisable signature - a unique combination of craftsmanship and innovation that make it unmistakably Clarks.
Underpinned by a rich heritage and strong values, Clarks is a leading global footwear brand serving millions of consumers across the world, operating retail, wholesale, franchise and online channels in over 100 markets worldwide supported by nearly 6,000 employees across the world.
In February 2021, Clarks entered a new chapter in its history as it formed a partnership with LionRock Capital, positioning the iconic footwear brand for future success as it enters its third century.
