Our Kids Product team have bold and ambitious plans for the future, so if you’re looking for an opportunity to develop your skills in PLM, this may be the role you’ve been looking for!

We have been making children’s shoes for over 100 years so the Kids segment is a critical part of our Core Clarks business. As a brand we are well-established in the UK, so you would be joining a market leader, but we’re also ambitious about the future so it’s a particularly exciting time to be part of the team. A big focus for the Kids business unit is international expansion, creating product collections that will resonate with consumers around the world. With a reputation for innovation, we are committed to leading the category globally, creating unique products that both children and their parents will fall in love with.

About the role

At Clarks, the shoe is the star. Always has been, always will be. And great products are always designed around a deep understanding of the consumer. That’s why our Product Line Managers are at the forefront of defining the product strategy for each of our brands. It’s their job to not only understand the global market place and evolving competition, but also the consumer better than anyone. They take this insight and use it to plan our global shoe ranges to ensure that our offer is the most compelling and competitive expression of our brand it can be.

The Assistant PLm is a key role – you’re part of the in-house team of experts in consumers and the product creation process, delivering this insight into product briefs which define the role a product must play for it to succeed. You’ll support the PLM team in managing the product line planning process; building a seasonal product line in accordance with the brand strategy that will achieve all target consumer needs and commercial deliverables.

Joining our dedicated team of product people, you’ll collaborate with functions across the business to plan and develop seasonal ranges of Kids footwear – ranges that meet our target customers’ needs and stand out from competitors. Involved from the start of the process, you’ll work closely with design, merchandising and other teams to bring ideas and products to life.

About you

Well, you’ll likely come to us from a similar role. Having already gained some product line management experience, you’ve worked with design teams, supporting the planning of successful product segments and the development of great products from start to finish. We’re focused on creating carefully crafted contemporary designs and styles rather than catwalk imitations. So, ideally, you’ll have worked for a brand with similar values. Commercially aware and intuitive, you keep up-to-the-minute with new trends and you can spot a best-selling product from a mile away. Naturally passionate about shoes with a good understanding of footwear construction, you know the market inside out and you’re committed to delivering products that get consumers excited.

About Clarks

Clarks, based in Somerset, England, has been at the forefront of innovative shoemaking since its foundation in 1825, when brothers James and Cyrus Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that’s remained at the heart of what the brand does now.

In the Clarks archive of more than 22,000 pairs are shoes that have sparked revolutions and defined generations. From the original Clarks Desert Boot, first designed by Nathan Clark and launched in 1950 to the iconic Wallabee, each design has an instantly recognisable signature - a unique combination of craftsmanship and innovation that make it unmistakably Clarks.

Underpinned by a rich heritage and strong values, Clarks is a leading global footwear brand serving millions of consumers across the world, operating retail, wholesale, franchise and online channels in over 100 markets worldwide supported by nearly 6,000 employees across the world.

In February 2021, Clarks entered a new chapter in its history as it formed a partnership with LionRock Capital, positioning the iconic footwear brand for future success as it enters its third century.
