The role

As the Shift Manager you will establish the workflow productivity targets for the shift ahead and provide clear communication to your Managers for them to brief their teams on daily volume and productivity targets.  The shift handover from the previous shift may result in you having to make quick decisions around reallocation of labour deployment, or temporary mechanical issues may require an unexpected change of work mix.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who already has experience of a management role within a fast-paced, Unionised environment and can demonstrate a keen interest in contributing to the continued growth of the DC.  Ideally you will already have experience of running a highly engaged, motivated and productive team, so you can lead, coach and develop your team enabling them to be the best they can be.

You will encourage change and provide active support for the submission, evaluation and trialling of Continuous Improvement principles and ideas within your team, leading to increased involvement, productivity and job satisfaction for all colleagues.  Leading your shift by promoting and delivering a strong target focused and productive workforce, you will also cascade communications and provide feedback to the senior management team.  Coaching and developing your Managers will be key to ongoing improved engagement for them and their teams.
