Clarks has been running an SAP ERP solution for 15 years and over those years it has enhanced with SAP APO and a Demand and Fulfilment solution from Blue Yonder. These solutions also encompass key integrations and spreadsheets covering our retail, wholesale, and ecommerce channel’s.

The Role

We are looking for an experience Business Applications Specialist with a Planning background to join our team at Clarks. In this role you will support, maintain, and design key business applications, predominantly within our Planning Systems to enable multiple business teams to achieve stated objectives. You will ensure the solutions delivered are quality controlled and tested prior to implementation.

  • Deliver application maintenance and support, providing expert knowledge within the planning area.
  • Analysis, design, and implementation of minor modifications/enhancements to support non-project-based business requirements
  • Communicate with the business, particularly with Supply Chain and Merchandising areas regarding issues and changes.
  • Co-ordination of third-party suppliers in systems enhancement or support activities.
  • Prepare project definition documents, including project objectives and scope, outline solution, project plans, implementation approach, project resource and cost estimates
  • Help prepare feasibility studies; identify and evaluate innovative solutions to business problems; and develop project, proposals, definitions and plans
  • Support the evaluation of software suppliers and implementation partners including preparation of Request for Proposal Documents
  • Deliver functional and technical project delivery activities, including business process and solution blueprint design, delivery of the technical solution including package configuration and/or bespoke development, testing, execution of system implementation & rollout plans
  • Plan, monitor and control project workstreams of SAP releases or other strategic projects (e.g. Test Management of a major release of SAP)
  • Provide coaching/training to business super-users and process owners on ways to make the best use of standard application functionality.
  • Mentoring of junior team members in order to improve overall skill levels in technical and business process understanding.

Qualifications, training and skills required:

  • Capability of communicating with various levels of stakeholders, those that are equally technically minded plus translating and explaining IT technology to business operations at all levels up to higher management.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong experience of excel and VBA skills
  • Understanding of planning systems would be helpful.
  • Experience in supply Chain.
  • Good SQL skills including an understanding of database schemas, queries and views.
  • Knowledge of SAP will also be an advantage.
