Clarks shoes have been defining high street fashion for almost 200 years. Just because our brand has an amazing history, though, that doesn’t mean we’re not looking to the future. In this changing market, it’s more important than ever that we’re in tune with customer behaviour. That’s why we’re now recruiting a new UX Lead who can shape our online customers’ experiences and set our vision for UX.
Join us and you’ll oversee the development of UX solutions, creating outstanding digital experiences for our customers. With your knowledge and perspective, you’ll shape UX design and influence our partners, inspiring bold, ambitious thinking. As our resident UX expert, you won’t be happy until you’ve explored the latest innovations and read up on all the trends. And, as a key advocate for a customer-centric culture, you’ll seek out optimisation opportunities, run research sessions and evaluate customer behaviours using a range of analytical tools—all while creating customer value.
This highly collaborative role is rooted in the process of co-creation and will see you working alongside the wider business team, suppliers and other stakeholders to deliver fluid, mutually beneficial solutions. Leading design sprints, you’ll solve complex problems and enjoy finding innovative solutions. From hypothesis to prototyping to testing, you’ll deliver ingenuity every step of the way—not to mention communicating your ideas effectively to influence business decisions.
A bit about you
A seasoned product designer, your understanding of UX service design fundamentals will go deep. With extensive experience, you’ll be an expert in typography, interaction and visual design, as well as having a firm grasp of the full product development lifecycle. However, you’ll also be up-to-date when it comes to emerging technologies and have an understanding of working methodologies like agile (including scrum framework) and lean. We’re looking for someone with a strong degree of empathy that, combined with your data-driven approach, enables you to get inside the customer’s head, understand their barriers to engagement and provide simple, workable solutions.
This is a role for a collaborator—someone who is able to enthuse and motivate a team to create maximum impact. You should also be a highly skilled presenter, able to express yourself in ways that are tailor-made to every given audience to ensure their buy-in. Above all, you’ll be passionate about shaping and developing UX so that customer’s digital interactions with Clarks are the very best they can be.
Life with us
Over 46 million pairs of Clarks shoes are sold globally. That makes us a £1.5 billion business and a truly worldwide brand. We now have some 12,000 employees across 75 different countries – everywhere from Europe to the Americas. Despite being the world’s leading global casual footwear brand, we’re still majority owned by the Clark family and based in Street, Somerset – where the Clarks business began. Street is the nerve centre of our business, driving growth and the whole Clarks success story.
