The role

Providing top-line leadership, you’re someone who thinks big when it comes to IT. Both in terms of the applications that comprise IT systems and the teams that work with them. The strategies that you develop provide the concepts that will bring all those apps and all those people together. Working in efficient harmony. Always evolving ideas that help us work smarter, make systems more user-friendly and, ultimately, bring business change that delivers better customer experiences.

As much as the sky’s the limit for your conceptual thinking, you’ll also be analysing the finer details of all our IT applications to get them working together – integrating – in the best way possible. And you’ll always have one eye on the market, looking for IT solutions that provide a better more cost-effective solution. Because, as much as you’ll be going deep with tech – coordinating testing events, migrating, monitoring performance – you’ll retain a commercial focus that’s every bit as rigorous as your strategic planning. By doing that, you’ll have a huge impact on a historic, world-leading brand and you’ll be on track for some serious career highs.

A bit about you

For you, the exciting part of IT is delving into the unknown – the yet-to-be. It’s what makes your IT solutions so future-proof. Because you’re switched on to the latest industry trends, you can anticipate what’s coming down the line. It’s instinctive and it’s because you’re experienced. You’ve got a good amount of history with the future. During your experience you’ve innovated with IT integration and IT architecture and played a major role in moving a similar-sized businesses (ideally retail or ecommerce) forward.

MuleSoft Developer, DataWeave, XSLT, SAP PI/PO or SAP BTP Integration Suite – they’re just the tools of the trade for you. Things that put your visions for the future of IT into practice. Your understanding of SQL completes the package. For you, they’re all just aspects of a single language – innovation – that you’re more than fluent in. And you’ve got the qualifications to back it up. Your fluency is what will get people on board with the strategies you propose. Because, whether you’re addressing technical audiences or not, the logic behind your innovation is always clear. It what inspires people – and that, after all, is where real business change comes from.

About Clarks

Clarks, based in Somerset, England, has been at the forefront of innovative shoemaking since its foundation in 1825, when brothers James and Cyrus Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that’s remained at the heart of what the brand does now.

In the Clarks archive of more than 22,000 pairs are shoes that have sparked revolutions and defined generations. From the original Clarks Desert Boot, first designed by Nathan Clark and launched in 1950 to the iconic Wallabee, each design has an instantly recognisable signature – a unique combination of craftsmanship and innovation that make it unmistakably Clarks.

Clarks is a global business operating retail, wholesale, franchise and online channels in over 100 markets worldwide supported by nearly 10,000 employees across the world.
