As Internal Audit Manager you’ll help design the audit plan, and then have the independence to scope, execute and close out those audits with any required actions. Our global reach and multi-channel distribution capability will also mean that there is a huge amount of variety to the individual audits you may undertake. That global reach will also allow for flexibility around location, although attendance at our Head Office in Street, Somerset will be required.
It’s about driving a culture of independently testing compliance with policies and controls and driving process improvement throughout the Clarks Group. You’ll also support implementation of new assurance and controls processes while keeping the Head of Financial Strategy & Assurance up-to-date on your progress and making sure your audit plan is delivered on time and to the most exacting standards.
What’s more, multiple stakeholders will look to you for advice on post-audit actions, so it’s essential that you also continue to keep up with specialist knowledge, trends and practices. After all, there are always potential new risks around the corner for you to spot and improvement you can make to the ways we mitigate such risks.
A bit about you
Your extensive corporate auditing experience in a similar role will have enabled you to develop the very best communication skills, both written and verbal. Internal stakeholders will trust and be influenced by you not only because you’ve proven yourself to have the strongest change management, project skills and process knowledge but also because you’re able to convey absolute confidence in that expertise.
Of course, you’ll also be very comfortable with related tech – ideally SAP and most certainly MS Office, for which you’ll demonstrate considerable knowledge. In fact, it’s your dexterity with that tech that allows you to achieve such rational, expedient and seemingly natural conclusions in the achievement of your audit plan.
Life with us
Over 46 million pairs of Clarks shoes are sold globally. That makes us a £1.5 billion business and a truly worldwide brand. We now have some 12,000 employees across 75 different countries – everywhere from Europe to the Americas. Despite being the world’s leading global casual footwear brand, we’re still majority owned by the Clark family and based in Street, Somerset – where the Clarks business began. Street is the nerve centre of our business, driving growth and the whole Clarks success story.
We’ve already told you about the degree of flexibility you’ll enjoy as a valued addition to our business – but that’s just the start. As well as development opportunities, pension and a competitive salary, you’ll also enjoy a variety of other benefits. These range from 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays) to discounted healthcare. And, as everyone loves new shoes, you’ll also get a very healthy discount on our products.
