It’s an exciting time to join the European Merchandising Team. There’s a lot happening and lots that you’ll be doing to help us to achieve our European ambitions. But it’s not only us that’s ambitious! If you’ve got a fast-paced, constantly evolving career in mind, merchandising takes some beating.
It's a big job, but an incredible exciting, varied and challenging one. You’ll be responsible for merchandising in our wholesale business Europe wide. Day to day you’ll be analysing and evaluating commercial data including sales and margin, identifying trends and proposing changes to future ranges to ensure the right shoes appear in the right places at the right times. Working closely with the European Merchandising, Regional Line Management and Sales Teams you will have the opportunity to build a variety of relationships across the European region and wider business.
So, what do you need to bring? You will have previous Merchandiser or proven Assistant Merchandiser with category ownership experience in either a retail, wholesale or online business, to enable you to understand how the merchandising function works within a head office environment.
With a keen eye for detail, you will have excellent analytical & forecasting skills, a flair for commercial acumen and an unwavering customer focus. You’re adaptable, approachable, able to influence, not to mention quick to pick things up and understand how we work.
Potentially you will be focused on the German market, so language skills and knowledge of the market will be a plus.
Working for a global business you’ll want to build relationships across various markets and levels of stakeholder. There will be occasional travel within Europe to help you achieve this. Like everyone here at Clarks, you’re dedicated and driven, committed to be the best you can be.
Life with us
Every 60 seconds, 105 pairs of Clarks shoes are sold globally. That makes us a £1.6 billion business and a truly worldwide brand. We now have some 15,000 employees across 75 different countries – everywhere from Europe to the Americas. Despite being the world’s biggest everyday footwear brand (by sale volume), we’re still owned by the Clarks family and based in Street, Somerset – where the Clarks business began. Street is the nerve centre of our business, driving growth and the whole Clarks success story.
As well as development opportunities, pension and a competitive salary, you’ll also enjoy a variety of benefits. These range from 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays) to discounted healthcare. And, as everyone loves new shoes, you’ll also get a very healthy discount on our products.
We love hearing from great people
