A week in the life of
As part of our growing HR department, the Payroll team is responsible for over 9,000 Clarks’ people, in 23 different countries. That’s a great amount of payslips and a great opportunity for your career. Joining us, you’ll bring your payroll experience to a supportive, dedicated and very friendly HR team in an iconic, internationally successful and ever-expanding business with ambitious growth plans. You’ll be involved in SAP related payroll processes to ensure that all of our people get paid accurately and on time. It’s a big task with lots of responsibility but don’t worry, you won’t be on your own. You’ll be part of a small, friendly team and work closely with them to ensure that processes are effective, up-to-date and internationally compliant. We want our payroll service to be world-class, just like our shoes – that’s where you come in.
A bit about you
You’ll have experience working within a payroll administration environment, specifically with an understanding of payment and deduction processing and the handling of sensitive data. Strong IT skills including SAP Payroll means you’re equipped to handle our systems. You’ll have a good understanding of payroll principles relating to the calculation of up to gross and gross to net. If you’ve worked with ROI, IOM and Jersey payroll before, that’d be even better. Ideally CIPP qualified or part qualified, you’ll also be well-organised, detail conscious, and comfortable working to strict deadlines. You understand the importance of payroll to a global organisation and you’ll use your skills and expertise to maintain our reputation for international excellence.
Life with us
Every 60 seconds, 105 pairs of Clarks shoes are sold globally. That makes us a £1.6 billion business and a truly worldwide brand. We now have some 15,000 employees across 75 different countries – everywhere from Europe to the Americas. Despite being the world’s biggest everyday footwear brand (by sale volume), we’re still majority owned by the Clarks family and based in Street, Somerset – where the Clarks business began. Street is the nerve centre of our business, driving growth and the whole Clarks success story.
As well as a rewarding career, development opportunities and a competitive salary, you’ll also enjoy 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays). We believe it’s important that you have all the support you need, so you’ll also benefit from sick pay, a company share save scheme, pension, discounted healthcare, long service awards and life assurance. Of course, as everyone loves new shoes, you’ll also get a very healthy discount on our products along with other great adhoc offers.
We love hearing from great people
